CALENDAR OF EVENTS​

Calendar of events for 2026

Kentish Garden Club meets monthly. During daylight saving times (October to
March), meetings are held on the second Thursday of the month at 7.30pm at the
Bible Chapel, 45 High Street, Sheffield and preceded by a visit to a local garden. In
April, August and September, meetings start at 6.30pm. In May, June and July
meetings are held on Saturday afternoons from 2pm at Barrington Hall, 52
Barrington Road, Barrington. For dates and details see below.
Produce Swap: From January to May, the club also organises a produce swap on
the last Saturday of the month at 3pm at Barrington Hall (arrive from 2.30pm as the
swap is over very quickly once the bell rings at 3pm). The dates for 2026 are
January 31, February 28, March 28, April 25, and May 30.
Any questions about events please call Jennifer on 0488 047 011. There is no
charge to attend most meetings and everyone is welcome.
Upcoming meeting dates

January 8 (Thursday evening meeting) 7.30pm at the Bible Chapel, 45
High Street, Sheffield. Speakers on preparing for FlowerFEST, display
tips and floral demonstration.

February 7-8 FlowerFEST 2026, 10am-3pm, Sheffield Town Hall, High
Street, Sheffield. Display set up 3pm-6pm Friday, February 7 and
Saturday, 7am-8am. For more on FlowerFEST, see the Show Program
on this website.

February 12 (Thursday evening meeting) 7.30pm at the Bible Chapel,
45 High Street, Sheffield. FlowerFEST report.

March 12 (Thursday evening meeting) 7.30pm at the Bible Chapel, 45
High Street, Sheffield. Guest speaker Angus Stewart on breeding
native plants, particularly native daisies (charge to non-member $5 –
pay at the door. Note this meeting will be held at Barrington Hall, 52
Barrington Road, Barrington. Some of Angus’s plants and books for
sale.

April 9 (Thursday evening meeting) 6.30pm at Sheffield Golf Club, 214
Nook Road, Sheffield. Harvest Supper and fun vegie competition. Bring
a plate to share based on home grown or local produce. Competition
categories include heaviest pumpkin, heaviest tomato, biggest
zucchini, biggest potato, longest bean and strangest vegie (shape or
variety).

May 10 (Saturday afternoon meeting) 2pm at Barrington Hall, 52
Barrington Road. Speaker/workshop.

June 13 (Saturday afternoon meeting) 2pm at Barrington Hall, 52
Barrington Road. Speaker/workshop.

July 11 (Saturday afternoon meeting) 2pm, Barrington Hall, 52
Barrington Road, Barrington. Speaker/workshop.

August 13 (return to Thursday evenings) from 6.30pm, AGM and
Annual Dinner (to be held at Sheffield Golf Club) with guest speaker on
a gardening destination. Cost for dinner to be confirmed, drinks at own

September 10 (Thursday evening) from 6.30pm at Bible Chapel, 45
High Street, Sheffield. Speaker on bonsai (with demonstration).

October 8 (Thursday evening) from 7.30pm at Bible Chapel, 45 High
Street, Sheffield. Garden visit from 6pm to a local garden. Speaker to
be confirmed.

November 12 (Thursday evening) from 7.30pm at Bible Chapel, 45
High Street, Sheffield. Garden visit from 6pm to a local garden.
Speaker to be confirmed.

November 28-29 (Saturday & Sunday) GardenFEST 2026 with eight
local open gardens in Sheffield and surrounds. Tickets $10 each
(covers all gardens, both days). Gardens are open from 10am-4pm.
Tickets and maps available from 9.30am in the courtyard at the
Epicurean Café,   72 Main Street,  Sheffield.

December 13 (Sunday midday – there is no Thursday meeting in
December) Christmas Party, from 12 noon at Claude Road Hall,
Claude Road (note there is no Thursday meeting in December). Bring
savoury or sweet dish to share. Club provides chicken, ham, tea and
coffee. Members no charge, non-members welcome ($20). Call 0488
